Para Nymph

The Para Nymph is a pattern created and shown to me by Tom Baltz, a four time state fly tying champion and fishing guide in Pennsylvania. Tom uses this fly with great effectiveness, drifting it in the surface film. Although Tom described his exact fly to me thoroughly, we made several modifications for tying ease and durability. Tom prefers to use orange calf hair for a wing post and we have substituted orange Hi-Vis.
Try this effective pattern when you can detect a hatch but are not quite certain what is hatching. The fly is fished “as is” – meaning in this EXACT color (but various sizes) as many Mayflies take on these colors during emergence across the globe.
