“River god” Fry

Dennis Potter, who calls himself the “river god” in northern Michigan has developed a number of patterns that he fishes with confidence. His “Fry” pattern can be tied and marked with a marking pen to imitate small baitfish, fry, and minnows. The fly, which is outfitted with a “non-lead” realistic barbell eye, is tied Clouser style so it fishes “hook-up” in the water.
If you fish woolly buggers, Clouser minnows and other streamers, give this pattern a try. We have fished this fly for trout, bass, steelhead and other species.
